BODIES OF WORK

"Flora," macro/close-up images of exotic plant life. The majority of the images were taken at the University of California Botanical Garden at Berkeley.

"Bark!," macro/close-up images of the bark of trees located in Northern California, primarily in Sonoma County.

"Sonoma Coast," images of the Sonoma Coast, in and around Bodega Bay.

"Woodlands of Sonoma County," a study of trees and their environs, from the mountains of Sonoma County to the Pacific Ocean.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Photojournalist, Santa Fe Lifestyle Magazine, Southwest Profile Magazine, Arizona Arts and Travel Magazine, (all four-color publications), Santa Fe, New Mexico; provided black and white and color photographs for assigned articles ranging from politics to the arts to human interest, etc. Got hired with no experience (and no equipment initially) proving it’s who you know and not what you know that counts.

Photography Editor, Santa Fe Lifestyle Magazine, Santa Fe, New Mexico; responsible for shooting and/or buying all black and white and color photography based on subject matter of each story. Best job I ever had. Loved every minute of it. Great magazine.

University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin. Dual major in girls and drugs.

Université de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland. Lived a pseudo-bohemian/starving student lifestyle dabbling in travel and sightseeing.

Bachelor of Fine Arts-Acting, College of Santa Fe, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Wrong choice. Should have gone to photography school. What was I thinking?

TRAVEL

France, Corsica, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Great Britain, Italy, Greece, Israel, Mexico, Guatemala, Canada. Loved it all. Had a great time. Oh, to be younger again.

LIFE EXPERIENCE

Sang and acted in the Children’s Chorus at the Metropolitan Opera, New York City from ages nine to fourteen. Wow! What an incredible experience! If I wasn’t a photographer I would be an opera singer.
